Why is so little of Jesus´ childhood described in the Bible?

Welcome today to another segment with Jesus Christ for Muslims. We are so delighted that you have joined us to hear about these questions that you the audience is asking so that we can answer them based on the biblical perspective. What does the Bible say about these questions so we might answer them that way and we might understand that those questions that we have are normal and good questions, but God has an answer for us.

So here is the question that we are addressing today.

If the Bible is so complete and accurate then why is there nothing mentioned about Jesus’ childhood?

Does it leave the sign that the Bible is not that accurate as it is declared?

How is it possible that Jesus the savior’s life is not completely mentioned in the Bible when He is the main pillar of Christianity?

These are good questions should a long gap about Jesus’s life in the Bible make people doubtful about its ethnicity, very good questions. So, this is what the bible says in Luke 2:39 through 42 the Word of God says. “When Jesus’s parents had fulfilled all the requirements of the law of the Lord. They returned home to Nazareth in Galilee. There the child grew up healthy and strong and was filled with wisdom, and God’s favor was on him”. Then it says in verse 41 “Every year Jesus’s parents went to Jerusalem for the Passover festival. When Jesus was twelve years old, they attended the festival as usual”. Verse 51 says “Then he returned to Nazareth with them and was obedient to them. And his mother stored all these things in her heart”. Verse 52 says “Jesus grew in wisdom and in stature and in favor with God and all the people”.

Now it is interesting to understand and know that the increase of wisdom in Jesus was not part of his childhood growing, okay! Let us remember that Jesus is God but The Bible says as we mentioned earlier in another segment that Jesus came from Heaven to earth. The only person on earth who first was in Heaven then He came to earth so the knowledge of God, the knowledge of the universe, the knowledge and knowledge of everything, Jesus had that, He was born with that, okay! because He is God-man. So what we need to understand here is that the physical body of Jesus had to mature like yours and mine because we have also said earlier in another segment that Jesus was born a human being like you and I are flesh and blood, So He could understand us completely. So believe it or not at a moment in time when Jesus was born even though He was God, He was totally dependent on His mother to feed Him, to take care of Him, to cloth Him, to keep Him warm. He was a baby like you and I and those of us that are parents and have children know that our babies don’t know anything but to cry and go to the potty that’s all they know what to do. So we need to feed them, we need to take care of them, we need to clothe them, we need to give them a shower, we need to help them grow and mature and Jesus was no different than you and I because He was human like you and I. But this whole deal about not having scripture or the part of the Bible that talks about Jesus growing up in His life is not very uncommon because in the whole story of essence is not necessary to be so specific of day to day living. Here we read that every year Jesus’s parents would take Him to the Passover in Jerusalem. So, The Bible is talking about every year of their life although it narrows it down to the more important things that happen throughout the lifetime of Jesus and that is that while He was growing, every year they would go up to Jerusalem and celebrate the Passover because that was an important a very important festivity or tradition that the Jewish had because that was celebrating when The Lord took His people out of Egypt. So it did say that next, it says in John 21:25 Jesus also did many other things. If they were all written down, I suppose the whole world could not contain the books that would be written.

Now, how is that for an answer? it is simple The Bible wanted to be there to answer our questions that had more value, our questions that had eternal consequences and the growing of Jesus Christ was normal. The Bible says that He grew in stature and in wisdom and was pleasing not only to God but to everyone around Him and we do not need a recording of what happened when Jesus lived, when He was 13 years old on May 14th, that is not necessary, that is not important and I just used a day that is an example. The fact of the matter is that His family was growing up every year through going to Jerusalem celebrating one of the most important festivities in Jewish people which is a Passover and yet it tells us that He was growing. And I love the scriptures in John 21:25 because it says that Jesus did many other things that if it were to be written down the whole world could not even contain the number of books that would have been written about Jesus. And let me be sincere with you there is a lot of people out there that have the excuse of not reading the Bible because it is too big, there are too many books in the Bible, there are 66 books, that are written by so many different authors, it’s just too much to read.

Okay! Could you imagine that reading about every single day in Jesus’s life! you would not have the time, because He just did so many things like you and I do every day. The fact of the matter is that what was important for you and for me to have a communication and a communion with God is written there so that you and I can understand that you and I can take it as an example of someone who is divine and human-like Jesus Christ. That we might follow and grow in our spiritual walk here on earth. So that is why there are not so many things written about Jesus when He was younger. It was not necessary, what was necessary trust me, what was truly necessary and needed for you and me to know about God is written there for us. It is complete we then need nothing more nor nothing less what is written is exactly what God wants you to know and understand and to such a point whether you apply it to your life, you apply it to your Christian walk, your development in the Lord as you grow out the days on this earth and fulfill the purpose for why God created you.

So, I encourage you read the Bible, read everything that is there, learn it, memorize it, let it just flow through your body and through your spirit to a point where then you will be able to live your life in such a way that will be pleasing unto the Lord and those around you. We love you, thank you for your time today and again we want to encourage you.
