Being Christian – A Narrow Path Towards Eternal Life

Greetings in the name of the Lord. It seems to many of us that if our birth took place in a Christian family or if we have received baptism in Jesus´ name then we are free now. As if we don´t have any responsibility now, we have got the Salvation. But this is a misconception. Being Christian is a huge responsibility that we carry along with us every moment and every day. And it is our duty to fulfill it till the last breath.

I agree that Holy Scripture asks us to do many things which are difficult for human being to obey.  Such as forgiving enemies, helping others by sharing our possessions with them, and not judging others. This is also true that on many occasions human being falls in temptation due to the physical desires and does the things which are forbidden by the Word of God. But this is the trial! This is the test that we have to keep ourselves and our faith strong in any circumstances. And not commit any act which goes against the Holy Scripture.

Matthew Chapter 7 Verses 13-14; Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life and only a few find it.

This verse teaches us that the journey of Christianity which we have begun, that definitely goes through a small door and narrow path, we obviously face difficulties and face the temptations as well but eventually this small door and this narrow path take us to our destination which is the endless life, the life that is assured to us by Christ Himself. That is why remember; being Christian is a big responsibility and we have to keep ourselves and our faith strong in any situation, tough time, or trial. Never go against the Word of your Lord. And remember; anything that is not according to the Bible should never be part of our lives. Amen.
