Imitate Jesus

Greetings in the name of the Lord. Many of us want to be like Bollywood actor Shahrukh Khan. Some have desire to become cricketer like Shahid Afridi. Someone is willing to become a footballer like Ronaldo. And someone must have dream to become politician like Obama or Trump. But how many of us want to be like Jesus, want to copy Jesus, and want to follow the footsteps of Jesus in their daily lives! Probably very few!

We believe that if we keep hairstyle like these famous worldly personalities, wear clothes like them, and look like them, we would gain attention of everyone and we shall be praised. And we think that Jesus Christ is an old fashioned personality who came on the earth 2000 years ago, how can He become our role model? But we forget that Jesus Christ is God and who can be a better role model than God Himself! The God who created us on His own image!

In 1 Corinthians chapter 11 verse 1 Apostle Paul wrote; “Be imitators of me, as I am of Christ.”

Being like Christ doesn´t mean to have hairstyle like Him or wearing clothes like Him. What it really means is that we speak like Christ, become soft hearted like Him, think like Him, help others following His example, forgive others, follow the Word of God, and glorify His name.

If we imitate Jesus we shall have in our lives a strange kind of happiness, satisfaction and comfort which we would have never experienced before. As Apostle Paul said; let us be like Christ and become part of the eternal life in that home which Christ has prepared for us in Heaven.

Dear friends, let us be like Jesus, imitate Him, and set an example for the others. Amen.
